Romans Chapter 11 Verses

1      I say then, God did not thrust away His people. It may not be, for I also am an Israelite, out of Abraham’s seed, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2      God did not thrust away his people whom He foreknew (knew before), or have you not recognized in Elijah what the Scripture says, as he is pleading to God against Israel, saying

3      Lord, Your prophets they killed, and Your altars they dug down; and I am preserved alone, and they seek my life!’ (lit: soul)

4      But what says the answer to him? ‘I have reserved to myself seven thousand men (males) who have not bowed (a) knee to the Baal.

5      Thus then also (kai) in the current season a remnant according to choice of grace has come to be.

6      If yet to (by) grace, no more (longer) out of works: since (else) the grace becomes no longer (more) grace. If yet out of works, no longer is it grace, since (else) the work no longer is work.

7      What? Then (that) which Israel is seeking she has not encountered (it did not happen), yet the choice encountered; yet the rest were calloused (hardened)

8      According as it has been written, ‘To them the God gave spirit of slumber, eyes of the not-to-see, and ears of the not-to-hear until the today day (to this day).

9      And David says, ‘Let their table become into trap and into mesh and into snare (skandalon: stumblingblock) and into repayment to them.

10    Let their eyes be darkened so they not-to-see (blepein – to look or to observe as opposed to perceive), and their back: continually be bowed together!’

11    I say then, they did not trip that they should fall; it may not be. But so their (falling aside) offense, the salvation to the Gentiles (ethnesin) to (provoke) them to jealousy.

12    If yet the fall of them (their fall)(is) riches of (the) world, and the diminishing (hettema – worsening) of them the riches of nations, how much rather their fullness?

13    For to you I am speaking, to the Gentiles, inasmuch as indeed (surely; certainly) am I of Gentiles (ethnon) apostle, my service (ministry, dispensation) I am  glorifying (make greater),

14    if somehow I should provoke to jealousy (parazeloso) my flesh, and should save some (any – tinas) of them.

15    For if the casting away of them (is) reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving (taking) back (proslepsis – restoration, returning), if not life from the dead?

16    Yet if the firstfruit (is) holy, also the kneading, and if the root (is) holy, also the branches.

17    Yet if some of the branches are broken out, yet you being a wild olive (field olive) are grafted in them, and joint participant (communor-together) of the root and of the fatness of the olive you became,

18    do not be boasting against the branches! Yet if you boast, you are not bearing the root, but the root you!

19    You shall declare then, ‘The branches are broken out, that I may be grafted in.’

20    Good (sure, kalos); for unbelief they are broken out; yet you have stood by faith. Do not be haughty! But fear!

21    For if God spared not the natural branches (branches according to nature), lest somehow neither shall He spare you!

22    Behold then the kindness and severity of God: indeed on those who fell, severity; yet on you, kindness, if you may remain to the kindness; else you also shall be cut out.

23    Also those, if they not remain in unbelief, they shall be grafted in: for able is God to ingraft them again.

24    For if you were cut out of the wild olive by nature, and against nature are ingrafted into (a) good olive: how much rather these, those according to nature shall be grafted into their own olive?

25    For I am not willing you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, that not be wise to yourselves: that hardness in part has occurred to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles (nations) may enter,

26    And thus all Israel shall be saved according as it has been written, ‘The Deliverer shall arrive out of Sion the Deliverer, and He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27    and this is to them the covenant from (beside) Me, when I remove their sins.’

28    Indeed according to the gospel, (they are) enemies for your sakes: yet according to the choice (eklogen, election), beloved because of the fathers,

29    for unregretted (are) the gifts and calling of God. (ie: God does not change His mind about what He has given or whom He has called)

30    Even as also you once were stubborn (unpersuaded) to God, yet now you obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31    Thus also these now are unpersuaded, so through your mercy that they also may obtain mercy.

32    For God has confined the all in unbelief (unpersuadedness), that He should be merciful to the all.

33    O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable (inscrutable) are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!

34    For who has known the mind of the Lord or who became His advisor?

35    Or who first gave to Him, and it shall be repaid to him?

36    For from Him and through Him and to Him (is) the all; to Him the glory for ever. Amen.
