Who is God and what is God like? Can we know God, and can we be sure that what we think we know of God is true?

God has revealed Himself through many means: the creation shows His character, power, eternality, and divinity. The Bible tells us of His activities, purposes, and plans for His creation. When we know God as God has revealed Himself, we know the God Who is True.

Soul vs Spirit

The main purpose of posting these articles is to encourage the brethren to greater knowledge of the Scriptures, through which only may we know the Lord as He reveals Himself to men. When we know the word of God, we know the Lord Himself better, we know ourselves better, and we are better equipped to endure the attacks against the Truth as well as the trials we will face in this life.

Many times, well-meaning folk come to false conclusions about spiritual matters as a consequence of failing to use the rules of language properly when reading the Bible. Another problem occurs when people don’t really know what a word means, and either accept a meaning someone has communicated to them, or assume a meaning they feel fits what they believe the Bible to be saying...

Father Glorify Your Name

John 12:28       “Father, glorify Thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

Some people have come to believe wrongly that when the Bible refers to God ‘glorifying His Name’, that it refers to some strange situation in which God proclaims His own greatness to Himself. This unbiblical idea is bizarre; and has been a stumbling block to some unbelievers who, having believed that God spends His time praising Himself, consider such a being to be the epitome of arrogance.

The verb “to glorify” means to bring glory or honour to someone or something. While we may express the glory of something by speaking its praise, we do not bring honour to it or show its honour simply by speaking...

Isaiah 48 – Whom Did God Send?

9       For My name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for My praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

10      Behold,I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

11      For Mine own sake, even for Mine own sake, will I do it: for how should My name be polluted? and I will not give My glory unto another.

12      Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, My called; “I am He. I, the first, I also the last

13      Mine hand laid the foundation of the earth; My right hand has spanned the heavens. I call to them, they stand up together.

14      All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD (YHWH) hath loved him: He will do His pleasure on Babylon, and Hi...

Without God, Men Will Not be Good

The natural consequence of rejecting God is the degradation of the human character into wickedness. God being the sum of all goodness in every aspect is necessarily its only source; to reject God is to reject good, leaving men with only what is other than good. We cannot define goodness for ourselves; it already exists as an expression of the nature of God. We either know and acknowledge God and by extension all that is good, or we refuse God and by extension embrace wickedness.

God created man in God’s image: “And God said, “We shall make man in Our image and as Our likeness…'” (1)  He intended that we would live and reflect the goodness of God among all creation. When we live in communion with God, we are directed by His Spirit into the fullness of His goodness...

Either Jesus is Who He Says or Jesus is a Fraud

The thing is, you either believe Him or you don’t. You can’t say Jesus was a good teacher, a nice man, or a good example while refusing to accept what He said. Either He is indeed a good teacher, a nice man, and a good example Who spoke the truth, or He is a liar, and if a liar, He cannot be either a good teacher, a nice man, or a good example; Liars are not good people nor are they wise teachers.

Jesus did not contradict John the Baptist when he declared Jesus to be the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world. He did not correct him when His older cousin John declared Jesus to have lived before John, despite John having being conceived months before Jesus. How could a man conceived and born after have existed before?

Did Jesus come down from heaven as He told the people? If n...

Who Is Jesus?

Isaiah 44:6   “Thus says YHWH the King of Israel 1, and 2 His Redeemer, YHWH of Hosts 3, “I am the first and I am the last 4, and beside me there is no Elohyim.” 5

1.         The “King of Israel” or the “King of the Jews”:

Mt 2:2        “He who is born king of the Jews” = Jesus

Mt 21:5      “… thy King comes to you, meek and sitting on a donkey…” regarding Jesus fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem . Behold your king comes to you, He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.”

Mt 25:31-46     “The Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, and He shall sit upon the thr...
