The Preaching of Sin

Even with the hurting Jesus spoke of sin, because without sin, the message of the gospel is meaningless. If we had no sin, we would not be enemies of God, we would not be under His judgment, we would not need reconciliation with God, nor salvation from His justice.

Most people are not murderers, rapists, bank robbers, and child abusers. Most people’s sins are of the ‘milder’ sort: lying, gluttony, jealously, gossip, laziness, cowardice. We don’t see ourselves as ‘bad’ people because we don’t see our sins as ‘bad sins’. Consequently, most people expect God to freely allow them access to His glory on the basis of their being ‘good’ people, and do not see a need for Christ to save them...

What Did Jesus Say About Salvation

John 3:3         Jesus … said unto [Nicodemus], “Truly, truly I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Jn 3:16           For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Jn 3:18-21      “He that believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation: that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed...

Have You Given Thought To Eternity?

Eternity is what God inhabits beyond time.[1] Before God created time, God was.[2]Before time, was eternity. When time ceases in our experience, and our body dies, our spirits leave time and enter eternity,[3] that state where time does not exist.

Time is material, and relative to space and matter. The universe, the earth, our bodies, exist in time. But God is spirit;[4] He is not material, and is not dependant upon or bound by space or time.[5] When we die and our spirits are freed from our physical bodies, we will also leave space and time; we will enter eternity.

But will we occupy eternity in God’s presence or condemned to the lake of fire,[6] that place of eternal judgement[7] separated from God for eternity?

Jesus told His disciples that not everyone who says to Him, “Lord,...

Are You Good Enough to Go to Heaven?

Polls show most people believe they will go to heaven when they die. But if you had to stand before God in judgement today, how would you do?

The Bible says that anyone who breaks the Law in only one point is guilty of breaking the Law. God is a righteous judge; He must judge each person according to what they have done. Will you be innocent or guilty?

God’s law is perfect; have you kept His perfect law? Have you loved God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind? Jesus said this was the greatest commandment in all the Law. Have you kept it? If not, you are guilty.

God commanded that no other gods be set up besides Him. What do you worship? For what do you live? What masters your life? Will He judge you guilty or innocent of replacing Him with other “gods”?

God’s name is holy;...

The Tree Of Life

The fruit of the Tree of Life is life.

The fruit of the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” is the knowledge of good and evil. Until consuming this ‘fruit’, man knew only good, as he communed with God, the Source of all goodness, and continued in fellowship with Him by submission.[i]

Disobedience brought the knowledge of evil. Eve was deceived and persuaded by a smooth argument that what God had forbidden was ‘good’ for her. Instead of trusting the God Who created her and would know what was good, Eve doubted, and trusted the lie. Adam was disobedient, unfaithful to the God Who spoke to him from the beginning, in Whom Adam ‘lived, and moved, and had his being”. When the commandment was rejected, sin was birthed and Adam died.[ii]

In the beginning, man had access to t...

Hope of Christmas

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.’

And He that sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said unto me, “Write: for these words are true and faithful...
